Update (February 2021):
This is a project I started helping with in 2018. The goal is to design, prototype and manufacture an advanced prosthetic rock climbing shoe that addresses the desire for an aggressive toe and heel that current models don’t have. Currently our team has created a Solidworks model, a plastic model, and finally a 3D printed lightweight steel model. The steel component has held up excellently on the rock climbing wall; however, the rubber is starting to peel off due to the uneven stresses between the rubber sole and the metal shoe.
